Deutsche Post

Deutsche Post won't be delivering letters on Mondays in the next 5 weeks, starting this week. In doing so the Deutsche Post go against their legal obligation to deliver once every working day. Therefore please expect delays in mail traffic. Newspapers and other news magazines will however be delivered.

Germany-Continuing Strike Action
The strike is ongoing in Germany. The strike started on 8 June and currently some 32,000 postal workers are on strike.
All domestic letter and parcel sorting centres are affected. Approximately 70% of mail is delivered on time. For the remaining letters and parcels the delays are 2 to 3 working days. Since Wednesday 24 June also the Offices of Exchange in Frankfurt and Niederaula are on strike. This means that international mail into Germany and international mail leaving Germany are also experiencing delays of 2-3 working days.
France, Germany, Belgium, Spain, Portugal and Netherlands
As a result of industrial action in Calais, the ferry port is currently closed.  The closure of the ferry means additional freight traffic travelling via the Eurotunnel, however due to serious disturbances earlier today the tunnel has also been closed for a period of time.  Unfortunately due to these port closures, delays can be expected to mail and parcels being sent to destinations within Europe in the coming days.
United Arab Emirates

Emirates Post Group, the postal operator for the United Arab Emirates, has informed that due to the unavailability of flights to Asmara Airport the transit mail service to Eritrea is suspended until further notice.
Australia
The industrial action by Customs unions/staff is continuing. Delays can be expected for the next several days.
India
Heavy rains and a flood warning have brought life in Mumbai to a standstill.  This is causing severe air and rail traffice disruptions.  Delivery delays continue.
Italy
A fire in May continues to cause disruption at Rome's Flumicino Airport.  Flights have been redueced by 40%, resulting in an impact on mail delivery services.
